Project Overview: Motion Graphic Party Invitation

Task: Design a dynamic video graphic invitation to Victoria’s 30th Y2K Dance Party with music that plays into the theme. Victoria and I first met to discuss creative direction and create the party’s mood board. Then I sketched 3 design concepts and opened Photoshop to start layering. We chose to feature Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram background because the ‘LV’ also reads ‘VL’ which is Victoria’s initials. I made the monogram print colorful (in classic Y2K fashion) with a fresh holographic feel. The design featured lots of elements & customs:

• Custom holographic & juicy pink backgrounds with a DIY LV monogram overlay.

• Monogram overlay for both the main background & the CD-case cover background.

• Custom name logo in an ‘airbrush t-shirt’ effect script style.

• Custom “Now That’s What I Call Music” inspired logo on the CD case to read “Now That’s What I Call 30”.

• Sourced butterflies, customized shape/size to create fluttering effect.

• Custom iridescent CD with party description details written in a sharpie-style font.
